Kittyko (Kristin Kitko) teaches piano, guitar, bass guitar, and drums/percussion from her studio, Kittyko Studio, in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Kittyko believes that we are made of music (every hear your heart beat?) and that music is not only accessible to every person--it LIVES in every person.
With this philosophy Kittyko teaches everything from very basic note reading to complicated instrumental techniques in rock, pop, jazz, classical, country, folk, hip-hop, world music...you get the idea!
Students at Kittyko Studio make CD recordings on a regular basis! What could be better than a CD of you or your child playing her/his instrument and maybe even singing? Making a personal CD involves weeks of practice as well as focused concentration during recording sessions. You or your child will see and hear the rewards of practicing--and the joy of having a REAL CD! Recording sessions cost nothing in addition to the regular lesson rate. These in-studio recordings continue to be popular holiday and birthday presents.
The Annual Kittyko Studio Show is a highlight in the community. Kittyko believes that entertainment is culturally important--we love to be entertained and we love to entertain! With this in mind, students are encouraged to practice a piece to share and to decide HOW they want to share it. Play it with a blindfold on! Play it with a group of friends! Invite your mom or dad from the crowd to jam along! Use props and be creative with your moments of fame. Past shows have included imaginative props such as robots, sing-along lyrics for the crowd, choreography, costumes, and surprise guests. And of course there's the music trivia games between performers (with prizes!), the spontaneous 30 Second Dance Parties, and the great snacks and company at the end of the show!
